The School of Social Work’s classrooms are equipped with Logitech Conference Cameras (CC3000) which can be very useful for video conferences via online meeting tools such as Skype.
Also, theses cams can be used to conduct classroom recordings. Follow the introductory steps below to learn how to use the camera and its microphone:
1. Open up the application that will be using the Webcam, for ex., Skype.
a. If opening up Skype, you will want to go into the ‘Tools’ tab on the menu bar, then select ‘Options’ and click on “Audio Settings”
b. In these settings, change the Microphone and Speaker to “Echo Cancelling Speakerphone (ConferenceCam CC3000)”
c. Select “Video settings”. Change Camera to “Logitech ConferenceCam CC3000”
d. If using Windows Movie Maker to record video, click the “Webcam Video” Button
2. Use the Logitech Remote to adjust the Webcam to your desired position
When a video call begins in Skype you will see a small local preview from the cam
3. For best audio, sit about 2-3 feet away from the microphone, or move the speaker closer to participants.
